C32 AMG Engine Oil
Hello everyone
A couple of days ago I went to a oil change center in the area to have the first oil change on my C32 AMG from 2002. I was going to go to a dealership, but they weren't able to get me in until late next week.
Anyways, I remember seeing the guy put MB 5W30 PKW - Synthetic 229.52 in the engine. However, after doing a little bit of research, I realized that Mercedes recommends 0W40 oil for my car. I'm a little concerned and am wondering if this 5W30 oil is a proper engine oil for my car.

Thanks! Could you please advise if there is a good alternative to mobil one? I am pretty sure that in the region where I leave there are only fake mobil one engine oils and I can't afford purchasing online and waiting at least 2 weeks to get it. Is Motul 8100 X-cess 5w40 a good alternative? Or Castrol EDGE 0w40 titanium?
Thanks in advance!

My opinion is that your oil specs should depend on your environment (temp). I was using 5W40 in my C32, and later in it's life used 10W40 and it seemed to burn less oil. I'm actually going to start using 10W60 in my C63 because of the camshaft issues in that engine. Don't get hung up on the 0W oil. The dealer used 5W on my C63 service as it was a CPO when I bought it.
