Cylinder 1 and 5 misfires. Replace all coils, wires, and plugs or?
Hey y'all, haven't posted in a bit. My last post was a shameful attempt at selling my 32. Luckily things have sorted out and never had someone serious hit me up. I'll be keeping it proabably till I finish uni.
Just recently I started getting the 2 misfires and because I'm not living near my family mechanic I haven't had it diagnosed. I don't want to pay a rando mechanic due to pricing and trust. I'll be getting it diagnosed within this week or next when I visit my parents. I am due for service because I drive a lot and now that my semester is starting, I need to take care of these issues. I will replace those two and the coils on the cylinder 1 and 5 but am wondering if I should replace the wires and plugs as well.
Have been having rough idling and turbulance when driving but when when I plug in he obd and erase the codes, it's drives like normal.
Also since I'm going to be driving a ton more for school and work, I will be replacing the fuel filter, fresh oil and air filter change. I found some awesome deals on eBay on coils, and a fuel filters. (36 bucks for new Bosch coils!!!)
Let me know what you guys think.
Feels good to stay in the AMG game.

Thanks for the reply! I just got access to some tools and it turns out that the cylinders are indeed misfiring from the coils. Should I replace the wires too if I'm putting in new coils?

I'd see if the coils fix the issue first. If not, buy some wires next. There are 12 of them so it's a lot of wires.

Turned on the car and drove for quite a bit (about 60-70) because I really had to and the check engine light has not come back nor have I had any rough idling. I will be changing coils still but I'm wondering if it could be something else. I would like to change the wires since I'm changing the coils and plugs too

I throw out a suggestion.
Could be humidity related. If it was moist, and you had issues, but it's dry now and fine, then you likely need wires too.
Bad wires will jump a spark if humid, but they will fix themselves when dry. Same for the coils if cracked and leaking voltage.
How was the weather when it was acting up?
