buying a 05 C55 AMG

96,000 miles, dealer maintained. $8500. No accidents, adult driven. Good deal? I have owned BMW and this will be my first MB/AMG. Would appreciate any input. TY!

C55 AMG
I just purchased my first MB and it is a C55 as well, it has 170k on it and runs beautifully. Also coming from BMW these things seem to be surprisingly simple. Its about as complicated as an american muscle car. Big V8, basic auto trans and normal coil suspension, none of the air ride or DSG transmission that people find so problematic.

My friend owns a BMW/MB shop and he highly recommended the C55.

Also being such a large engine and having relatively low hp/liter ratio, the engines aren't overly stressed like the high rpm M cars which will chew through rod bearings in 80k miles.

I say go for it. I love mine. Haven't regretted it for a second

Save your time and money, please chip in some money to get a pre-purchase inspection by Mercedes or any other reliable shop.
You'll be glad you did in the future.

You can go to the dealer and give them the vin and they might be able to pull up service records to ket you know if it really was serviced there.

You might need to bring the owner with you coz Im not sure they'll release it without his permission.

Could be a good deal but a 14 point inspection is a few hundred bux and well worth it.
