C55 hesitation, but no codes
Hey guys!
I just noticed that when I am pulling onto the highway and give it just about half throttle that my car feels like it snaps the throttle body shut, and then takes a second for it to get power again.
It isn't throwing a CEL and I used a scanner and it says all is well, so what could cause this?
Once its good and warmed up, it's a monster, but I have only noticed this hesitation right when its about warmed up. I have never given it much throttle when its really cold so I don't know if it would do it then, but I do know I've never experienced it when it's fully warm.
It doesn't feel like a misfire, it almost feels like traction control is kicking in, but my triangle never flashes and it cuts out really hard, it isn't a gentle hesitation.
I was thinking MAF or CPS, but there's no codes, wouldn't one of those things throw a code?
Any recommendations would be great!
Thanks!

My car does this also. I've read about other cars doing it also. One thing I've learned is the MB doesn't respond like an American muscle car, I have to roll into full throttle and not just stomp on it. Works pretty good. I don't get the hesitation when I do it that way either.

You sure it's not just decreasing the power, changing the transmission gear, and then getting back on the power?
Remember our transmissions are beefy, but old. So they're slow to shift. To protect the trans, the engine cuts power between shifts just slightly (all engine programs do this). So maybe the engine is just waiting for the slow trans to down shift a couple.

I actually thought about that, like it wants to shift so it cuts power. But it cuts power abnormally hard, and it doesn't even change gears when it does it.
It is a strange occurrence. I tried it in manual mode, to make sure it wasn't thinking about shifting; and with traction control off, to make sure it wasn't that, and it still cut power.
I'm going to clean my MAF and reset my ECU and see if that helps.
The car has 170k on it though so I imagine some sensors are getting old.
I'm taking it to my mechanic today so I'll keep y'all updated for future reference if anyone has this same issue.
Thanks for all the responses!
