That's not normal. Sounds like bad idlers, tensioner or other bearings around the belt. They only last about 100K miles, then start to go.
If you pull the belt off, you can spin and wiggle the idlers and other round things to see what is making the noise. Expect a few parts to replace.

Thanks for your input as i suspected, could it be the supercharger bearing? The car does have some issues rear tyres are shot, front discs and pads are on the limit, flat battery the car has been sat around for a while, it actually went into limp mode when i drove it turned the key on and off and it came back to life.
it's a risky buy i think but is quite cheap so may have potential....

Could be the SC bearing, but the one out front is pretty easy to swap. I've done a couple myself. Can't tell by the sound...at least I can't. Only about $50 DIY for the SC bearing.
Limp mode could be any number of things...accelerator pedal, bad SC intercooler pump, etc. Both of those are least $150-300 each DIY.
I'll bet there are 2-3 other bearings in the idlers or tensioner that are toast. Add $50-200 for those DIY.
Front disks and pads maybe $500. Tires another $400. Battery $100. There are certain to be other things and we're over $1500 for known issues. It's a labor of love to bring them back to life.
Just be aware you know the costs and are willing to take them on before buying a dog. Nothing more expensive than a cheap Mercedes!
