2006 CL55 AMG
C55 AMG Coupe?
Hello AMG friends. This past late October a texter wrecked my 06 525+ whp bolt CL55 AMG. This monster had 700+ torque at the crank. So you can imagine what and how many street brawlers it toasted...the last being a 2017 C63 AMG sedan. Now that my bereavement is drawing to a close...I'm a coupe person...what/if year C55 AMG coupe to modify by dropping in a 5.5 V8 Kompressor and limited slip differential? Thanks to all in advance.

Why not just take a CLK. Swap a M113K into it? There you go. CLK55 AMG Kompressor Coupe. Or just buy another CL55?

Exactly, thx you. Coupe or rag top? Which is lighter? Can an LSD be retrofitted?
The CL55 AMG is heavy and problematic ABC.

Oh goodness. Now you are talking a whole bunch of work here. A coupe is lighter because it does not have the softtop and all the mechanisms to go with it. Also, might just be better off to just buy a clean CLK55 AMG Coupe or CLK63 BS.

A C209 CLK55 AMG clean like I bought cost me $19,000 with 33,000 miles and mine is basic too. Now factor the engine swap, LSD and labor. Seems like lots of work for not much gain.

LOL b!tch please, you don't get to set the rules around here. The "POS sport coupe" is by far the lightest car with an engine bay designed for the m113k engine.

This whole thread has me confused now.

C55 AMG Coupe would be taking a W203 Coupe and stuffing the M113K into it. Not production at all.
CLK55 AMG Coupe is a C Class chassis with 2 less doors. Almost the same car they made those. Those had a N/A engine. I have a 2005 CLK55 AMG Coupe and it is basically in theory a C55 with 2 less doors.
They never made a S/C C Class. That you will need to go aftermarket.
