Rear Ended (Transmission slippage)

I was rear ended few weeks back, other vechicle was totaled out but mine took the impact pretty well with minor rear bumper and fender replacements. After the incident I noticed my transmission felt it was slipping so the car was sent to Bavarian Motors For Mechanical servicing. I was informed that there was a “Internal Fault, in the transmission control module” The Insurance company that rear ended me felt that didn’t cause this problem. I spoke to a Mercedes Rep and was told otherwise, and was informed that a rear end collision could in fact cause an array of mechanical problems, especially on AWD & RWD cars due to where the transmission is located in RWD cars.

Any suggestions or Advice for this Situation?
