how to update sat nav on 2005 c55? thanks in advance

If you insist on not just using your phone, you'll need to get an updated CD/ROM that's compatible. The newest I've seen was a 2013 update and even then, the Navi unit is a joke when operating at 100%. Takes forever to input your destination and the graphics are maybe 16-bit, probably 8.

I can usually find a newer cd-rom on eBay. Just make sure it's for the Command unit of a w203 and you should be good to go.

My navi never worked, tried cleaning CD/DVD, tried other CDs with no luck. Upgraded to a 8" touch screen unit.

There's a DVD behind the screen (press the eject button to make the screen move). You can buy an upgrade disc online. Be aware though that it won't upgrade the graphics or anything, it mostly updates the roads and points of interest (POI's).
