NEED HELP - Engine Problem!
hi,
today as i was driving the C32, i noticed some really weird behavior. it feels as if no power is being put down when i gas it. the RPM's seem to STALL when approaching redline, particularly about 4-5 thousand. even in first gear, it takes forever to get to 40mph, or redline. feels like a loss of torque too, and the car, while on full throttle, does not seem to go anywhere! at first i thought it could be because my tires are bald, as they are, but i can't hear it or feel it really. and would this really cause such strange behavior? btw, ESP does not flicker on when this happens. overall, there is a very slow approach to redline and loss of power under full throttle.
btw, i have an 02 with no mods and 35k miles. and the dash does not have a message for me when this problem occurs.
did anybody experience this? i would really really appreciate any help you can offer. is this a major problem, or a result of one of the minor known problems with the C32? i will eventually take it to my dealer, but i would hope to get some knoweldge or shared common experiences from other members just to know what i'm dealing with. i don't want to go to the dealer and have them over-diagnose it where they charge me more than necessary. that's good news...i was hoping it wasn't something major. off the top of your head, do you know a ballpark figure of what it is - broken throttle actuator or intercooler pump failure? - and price? thanks man! i'll probably be taking it to the dealership soon, should be under warranty, right???
