Had the exhasut resonator pulled today!
The cost was $65 which included a charge for being **** and stainless tubing(3"). The old section was cut out of the car with a plasma cutter and the new section was properly flanged so as not to cause any air turbulance in the exhaust pipe.
Anyway, it sounds the same, just a little lower and a bit louder. Just enough to just hear it in the car with the AC on and the windows up under throttle. No it doesn't sound like a Honda or a V8, just more of what is already there.
I was actually surprised as after the mod the C32 is only small margin louder then my SLK32 was stock but the C32 res is really small so most of the muffling is in the rear muffler which is much bigger than what's on the SLK32.
It sounds really good at full throttle next to a road divider with the windows down!
Anyway, should have been like this from the factory and if you didn't know the C32, you would think that it was stock in terms of sound.
Worth every penny of the $65! Also, as expected, there was NO difference in performance. There is just not enough to the old res to create or remove any back pressure in the system.

A place called Bud's Muffler in Denver. They have done a ton of high-end work for me and work on plenty of new exotics for all the area dealers so they are without question the best place for custom work in Colorado. The did a killer all stainless straightpipe fabrication for my Lotus Sport 350 and a gorgeous 2 into 1 collector for my SLK32. Great guys!
