Having trouble finding right part #'s for fuel pump systems...

Basically the title. My car is currently having fuel delivery issues. Friend looked at it and said it was the starter since it was turning but not starting. I went to the engine and used a tire pressure valve thing and showed him the low pressure fuel that was weeping on its way out of it and we lifted the back seats. I hit the top of the system a few times with a rubber mallet and it turned on. I went to school and luckily was able to get back home. My mom then asked me let lend her the beast to go pick up my dad and she was warming it up for about 6 minutes when it just died on its own. I opened the rear seats again and tapped it a few times again and once again it started no issue.

I don't want to keep driving like this. I dont want to lose power on the highway where my commute mostly is. So, can anyone provide the proper part number? Ive searched threads and many people went aftermarket with a walbro or some VW/bmw/audi bosch pump. Some replaced the entire tank since MB USA does not sell the pump alone. I really want to buy the right one. I went on FCP, RMEuro, and pelican parts and there are mutliple different part numbers as well as a difference between a 4 pin and 5 pin connector on top. Which is it? Maybe there is an upgrade from another later model MB that works better?

I read some people upgraded to an SL55 pump, and some ended up only having to switch a fuse or even just the sender unit. Some people even just filled the tank and disconnected the batter for 10 mins and then it was fine.

My fuel gauge isnt working right, its sitting at the middle so I assume the floater is also stuck.

I really only want to replace with OE parts. Either pierburg or bosch... not genuine because thats a premium I cant afford. Does anyone have experience with this and can share their recent fix and recent updates on if it fixed their fuel issues?

Thank you for you reply. I bought both items as well as a Bosch sender unit (0986580342 2034701741) and the updated seal ring (002114710579). I tried to install myself but it was more than just the pump. The sender unit was restricting fuel from passing over to the otherside (driver side) and I took it to my mechanic who only changed the sender unit as the pump was not faulty. I ended up returning both the pump and feeder. Thanks for the proper part numbers though.
