Yes it does like all cars, but no where near a Kompressor/Turbo engine. Forced induction depends heavily on air temp as they either suck (kompressor) or blow (turbo) air into the engine, i'm sure you already new that though. N/A Engines suffer very minimal, trust me I came from a C32 which on hot, humid days was a pig, a fast pig, but a pig. When it was cold though that thing was a rocket. My old M3 & my current C55 did/do not suffer so much from this.

This is the first supercharged car I have owned, having owned turbos in the past. Generally speaking the initial intake temperature on a turbo car does not make a difference because it is superheated during compression by the turbo. Then, of course, the cooling is dependant on the efficiency of the intercooler. Does anyone know what the efficiency of the AWIC is on the C32? If it is that dependant on the outside temperature it is a good sign that we have too small of a heat exchanger or reservoir. I know that Evosport sells a reservoir expansion kit, so maybe that would help.
Usually NA cars are more affected by ambient air temperatures because of the denser air containing more oxygen, giving them a "supercharged" effect. That is why one of the first things to be upgraded on a NA car is the intake, usually being replaced by a "cold" or "cool" air intake.

Guys, its common knowledge about power loss in heat, do a Google search. There was only a 10 deg difference between when the M3 & C32 was tested.
PV=nRT. (T in Kelvin, absolute 0 K is -273 Celsius)
n is the air molecules entering the engine.
Thus Loss is 10% for every 27.5degrees C (given the same boost on cold and
warm days).
That's abour 3% for every 8degrees Celcius.

I'm sure there are quite a few guys in your area with similar mods to their M3's as you have done to your C32 that would meet you somewhere.
I am a BMW guy but have driven the C32 on dragstrips and (in my opinion more importantly) on road courses. The C32 is a great car and may be quicker in the 1/4 than the the M3 but the M3 is quicker in the curves in the hands of similar drivers. I am not flaming. I love AMG's (I am attending the AMG Graduate program at IMS next week). I just think your challenge will be better received at e46Fanatics instead of this board where most M3 guys have probably never visited.
