Coilover Clearance Differences
Here are a few pics which show the variances within the same tire width designation. These are 8.5" front wheels with an ET of 32, and both are 235 40 18 tires. The first pic shows the Goodyear GSD3's, the second pic shows the Toyo T1-S's.

The rubbing was solved with some fender rolling. My C32 with RENNtech wheels never had a rubbing issue up front but it did in the rear. Each car is different and the little differences can lead to different issues for different users.
SMG just needs to wathc tires sizes when changing tire brands. His options are clearly limited.
