Looking for an assistance.... 130,000km, been sitting for 1 year.
Only problem this vehicle has is it puts itself into limp mode ( Stays in one gear ), usually happens when downshifting, nine times out of ten if you pull over and turn the car off then on it will clear and remain driving normally, the speedo also dies and all the lights come on the dash, ABS ESP ect, these also sort themselves out when turned off and on,
Any ideas? New battery, gearbox electronic issue, speed sensor? Wanted to check in before I start buying parts

You can always check the connector to the ABS-module and its grounding. There was a recall way back regarding the grounding and its washer against the chassie.

The electrical connection at the trans leaks and the trans fluids wicks it’s way to the TCU. Check for the leak at the front right corner of trans. You’ll also need to check the wiring to the TCU. On a left drive car the TCU is under the right front carpet behind kick panel.
