c55 ESP programming on c32?

I understand that the tranny (& some other components) may have changed between the 2 models. But the Weight Balance/hp/torque etc. are relatively similar and the c55's ESP (according to MB) is less intrusive. I would be willing to try this "upgrade".

Also, maybe we can start a Group Buy and all chip in to buy a used c32 F-1 Estate so we can take it apart.... I would not be surprised if we would find some 'special' goodies in those (re-mapped chip, LSD?? etc..)

As you said: weight balance, hp etc is ABOUT the same.. ESP is a system that is adapted to each vehicle. Just imagine.. once one of your wheels starts to spin just for less than 1 inch.. ESP is engaged.. so I really doubt there's room for differences in the setup. I know it's a real pain with the C32's ESP braking in hard, but we have to live with it. And those of us who cant, theres still the 'ESP off' Button.. hehe

I wonder sometime...

It appears that this is not always the case. I have had several technicians @ several different MB locations tell me that our ESP = IDENTICAL to the c320's etc.

This seems transparent to me as I have had 'much' experience w/ the c320's c 230k's etc. and their traction control is much less intrusive (as it does not get the sudden power of our cars) and more fun to drive --probably b/c the ESP was designed for that "power-curve".

my 0.02$

cheers!

my ESP hasn't given me any problems after I made the switch to 18" rims and 255/35 tires in the rear. It's probably a little heavier than before, but it takes off better than before.

what pressures you runnimg front and rear, frank?

i have the 18" AMG style 4. used to run 36 front 34 rear, but after switching to 33 front 37 rear as in C55 recommended pressures for the 18" amg wheels, i found that the ride is better balanced especially over dips and road imperfections. 37 rear does sound alittle high tho...
