So I replaced shifter module conductor plate because the car wouldn’t shift out of first didn’t resolve the issue. However after inspecting my tcu I noticed there was a lot of oil that had leaked onto it so I cleaned the connectors with electronic cleaner. Am I supposed to reset the tcu after ? Or clear the code?

Clean the TCU while you're there since the oil could have gotten through and unplugging it should clear the code but manually clear it if it persisted.

I cleaned tcu connectors and harness connectors. What I’m asking is if I’m supposed to reset the tcu via scanner or should the code go away after a simple clean and unplug/plug in?
