Some of the hood pins out there fit flush or flat to the hood and do not look bad at all. My friends Shelby Mustang has some and they look very nice.

Honson, that looks bad *** man. Hmmmm, should i do it to my C55?
You said it cuts about 1/2 the weight, do you know how much the regular hood weighs? Looking good, i cant wait to see the finished product!

well I dont really expect a lighter hood to make any much of a noticable difference but well I just think its something different and good to have at carshows, not to mention get some ooohs and aaaahs!! I doubt a stock hood weighs that much, but we do have a W203 hood at my bodyshop in parts and comparing the weights by hand, the CF hood is 1/2 if not less then 1/2 of the OEM hood's weight.

Is the hood custom made or ordered from Visracing?
There is good money to be made for anybody making these hoods. I would love to have one for my 00 E430.(silver)

yes, but I have to talk to my people about it!!! Since its going to be the first one, it might be a big time consuming, not to mention a bit more costly!!! But it could be done!!

the only problem I see with the Silver CF hood for the C55 is the fact that theres a limited amount of W203s out there that can use the specific C55 hood. I have 2 friends here with C55s, so maybe I can work something out, get all the dimensions and work with my local CF guy to produce something. It would be cheaper if you could get some kinda group buy going if I can get the hood done. I will let you know though.Originally Posted by rguy

very detailed works
would it be easier to replace the front than top?

well, w/o having to mold the peice taht bends down to attatch the Grille, the C55 hood should be even easier to fabricate then the C32 hood!!

Since the C55's use nano-paint technology, would this mean the CF hoods wouldn't have this or is there a way for you to do this? Just curious.
