Parking lights flash with key in ignition
Have any of you noticed when you leave your key in the igniton after shutting down your car and have the lights off that all the parking lights and dash lights blink every 10-20 seconds for a few minutes? Also happens when you insert the key in the ignition but do not start the car.

Just wondering if there was a purpose to it.

oh yeah, and the purpose is to 'tell' you that the key is in the ignition...
