Battery drain—2006 c55

What would cause the lights in the middle of the dash not to time out? I can shut the car off, remove the key, and close the doors. The doom light fades out but the display in the middle of the dash, I.e., mileage, time, etc., stays on. Does not timeout.

any help will be appreciated.

Your best bet is to either check fuses/relays or remove your cluster to see if the harness is compromised. Is it just the screen or is it the warning lights too?

Just the center of the screen. Normally, it would go on when the door is opened, then timeout when door gets closed.. The mileage, time, temperatures are illuminated. I pulled the fuse, 7.5a, cleaned the terminals and replaced it. Of course with the fuse out none of the gauges worked, along with the lights.

Is there a relay that controls the timing to extinguish the center lights?
