replace rotors and pads together?
My 02 C32 currently has 185k miles. Five years ago, at 115k it had OEM pads and rotors replaced. Now the rotors are worn to the point where there is a pronounced lip on them and they squeal on easy stops. The pads still look 75% new. Do I replace pads and rotors anyway? thx folks

You could and it would save some money, but I would do both. The pads will no longer be perfectly flat having conformed to the ridges worn into your old rotors, so you won't have 100% baking power until they "bed in." In addition, it will probably prematurely wear your new rotors by transferring some semblance of the wear pattern of the old ones. Yes, it will work. Yes, it will probably be good enough to be safe, but why risk it unless you're really broke - then I'd do the pads asap.

pads a re cheap enough to do with them but you can also just sand/file down the surface of the pads to get them smooth again then re-use...
