i think it has got to go with intercooler.. probably the engine management is reducing power generation above a certain point to aviod excessive heat. or check all temprature sensors!!

The dealer replaced the IAT sensor and the water pump (as mentioned before), but they say they are still seeing ridiculuous IAT values stored. I'm not sure what else is left and they seem to be floundering about.

It's Fixed!!!
Well, after many weeks of frustration and having my car in the shop, it appears it is fixed! The dealer ended up replacing the ECU and/or some other control computer. I will update this shortly after I get my detailed paperwork. I took the car up to 130mph several times with no sign of hesitation. Woo hoo!
Update: paperwork says: Replace ME/Control Unit MBN 112 153 63 79 as per TAC instructions.
