Do you see variable valve timing in your motor? Ya I think the old M119 motor was higher tech than the new 3 valve motor. The new Direct injection gas motor will solve this but the current cars are middle men.

A civic has a variable valve timing.

I was not saying its a bad thing, its very good if anything, but if the motor has a high redline won't it mean aggressive gearing/engine lifespan reduced and lack of low end torque. The best thing about AMG engines is their linear, flat torque punch from low to top end. I really don't want a 5.0 V10 from AMG, gimme a 6.3 V8 anyday of the week

I would prefer the 7G as it does save fuel.

Despite the high vechicle tax, if I am still employed, there is a high chance I will upgrade to the 2006/2007 C AMG if it has a new engine and 7G. I am just falling in love with mid size sedan since I just departed from the heavy W210

If you have to complain about fuel prices, then how can you afford the car in the first place? At this price bracket, you generally don't care about fuel costs. What's an extra $20-50/month?

Not quite 'just' $20-50/month.

Each C55 62litre tank is $115, lasts 300km driving normally fast. Daily trip total is 60km, 25days is 1500km
cost per month is $575 which is ~HKD 4,500.
My W210 320 uses 30-40% less fuel than C55 especially I would not drive a W210 as hard as the C55.

Home+Office Parkings in HK costs HKD 5500 = ~$700 per month.

Above are just basic consumables.

Yes, even your calculated it wrongly but you are absolutely right, why should I care about fuel if I can afford a USD 108K C55 in HK. Cheers

Perhaps, it is still back to the human nature, the big spend was an overnight decision, the pain is a one-time and once passed the point of no return - wehn the salesman got his cheque And do I really care about cost of fuel if I can race with someone every minute than in the traffic jam watching the fuel meter killed for nothing.
