Considering buying a C55 on the other side of the country. Car has been maintained well, 2 owner car, clean Carfax, etc. As the shop doing the PPI will be my eyes and ears before the car ships, what should be sure is looked at? I know there are some things I'll want to do for preventative maintenance when I receive the car; replace the CPS, flush all fluids, replace spark plugs. I'm aware that as reliable as the M113/722.6 drivetrain is, there are some failure points...valve cover gaskets, transmission conductor plate, rear main seal. Are these an easy check? I would think valve cover gaskets are probably an easy check, conductor plate less so. Ive read if there is oil build up where the transmission housing meeting the engine, that indicates a leaking RMS. Is that correct? Any other tips would be appreciated? Thanks guys!
