Hi

I had my car in the shop today to have it check out some stuff. When I walked under the car I was trying to look for the resonator.. Is it the quite a bit large piece of metal about in the middle of the car? Or is it a part of the muffler? Sorry for asking this dumb question, but I just expected to see a smaller piece. Maybe Wiederman can post a pic of the exhaust system so I can show you guys what I mean... maybe it's just a language problem, I just want to be sure

That "big" bulky piece you saw sorta in the middle of the car IS the resonator. If you were underneath your car, you know it because you saw it.

C32 6 cylinder engine configuration

C55 8 cylinder engine configuration


From the "C32 6 cylinder engine configuration" illustration, the resonator would be next to the part number 390 (though the part No. 390 refers to the actual cuppling).
