My fuel gauge always shows full. I unplugged the sender under the rear seat, started the car and it went to full. What are the possibilities, bad ground, shot fuel gauge, bad cluster?
I installed a junk yard cluster and it did the same thing. All other gauges work as they should.

Bad sender is most likely the issue - Check your float.

C55 AMG T with Kleemann K2 and some stuff: 414 hp and 576Nm :-)
Changed fuelpump/sender very recently since my gauge suddenly showed zero. 200.000 kilometers.

Both pumps/senders have been changed, passenger last week, driver last year. Manually operated the passenger side and gauge operated accordingly. Using YOUCANIC reader shows passenger side at 27% and driver side ~50%. Pulled rear SAM relays one at a time and checked gauge, refused to get off full. When I installed the driver side, I had to add an extension/conversion harness. Currently driving by mileage.
Thanks for any help

Well, it has been a long time and I have tried several things to solve the mystery. Finally bit the bullet and lifted (did not pull it out) the driver side pump. The connector on the pump was loose. When I pushed on it there was a 'click' and the fuel gauge started working correctly at recheck. One caution, make sure the seal stays on the tank opening. Getting it back into the correct position while trying to replace the pump is very difficult.
Hope this helps someone.
