Did I see a roll-bar in one of those pics?

Looks are subjective, whatever floats your boat.
The RS6 has a lot of power but also more weight (4100-4200lbs). Stock rs6 puts about 350whp/tq at the wheels and with a chip its about 410whp/tq. The current S4 already weights 3800+lbs and although it has very nice handling, you can definitely feel the weight of the car.

Not sure if E55 is faster or not?
Just found these from Audi HK, they don't even have the RS6 on their web page?
The current RS4 sold in HK , the spec:-
Engine Type V6, bi-turbo, 30 valves (DOHC) engine
Displacement cc 2671
Max. Output bhp / rpm 380 / 6100 - 7000
Max. Torque Nm / rpm 440 / 2500 - 6000
Transmission 6-speed manual gearbox, synchromesh on all gears
RS4 spec
The RS4 is a very nice sporty car, but it is totally a different car from C55 which is intended to be a sedan. Why compare ?

My colleague in the UK has both and says the RS4 (his wife's car, also an estate) is actually faster - pity I didn't have a chance to test that out . I sure like those vents on the side of the front bumper of the old RS4s
IMO the old RS6 also has an element of sleeper factor - looks just like any regular station wagon to the untrained eye. Not so with the RS4.
However, I have to disagree - the C55 also has a wagon version (or will soon have) and is meant to be a performance street car, in the same class as the RS4/S4's. You can compare on this basis but its more a matter of preference and what one is looking for. In HK, for resale value and maintenance cost, Benz's will always be miles ahead

The poor thing is , most ppl here would not want to pay the price of a E500 for something that does not look as luxury as.
BTW, when is the best time to sell my C55 ?

Its pure sex.. By bye C55 and CTS-V That looks like a test mule needs to loose the yellow corners the new S4 looks great and so the interior. Lets hope its a little lighter then the usual Audi's.

I don't know how you can say ."...the handling and power are just incomparable" @ what cost??
Trade down to the Audi - I think not.
Peace!

Hello,
the new RS4 will not get the same engine like the RS6 !
It will be a non turbo V8 4,2 liter, with 425 HP. High reving concept
like for example the BMW M3.
This engine cannot be tuned with just a new chip, or at least it will not bring much more hp.

in 6 monthes or so I'll be in the market for a high end car.
So far i think its boiling down to the 911 (997) drove it and was very impressed and its in the price range i wanna pay. But just 3 days ago i saw the news of the Rs4 i love the fact its a sleeper and i too heard of 425 HP
and there also trying to bring the weight down.

It will be great if Audi bring it (V8-TT) back to US but based on what we see on RS6, it probably not going to happen. Unless Audi makes some big change on emission system. That will cost extra $ to develop just for US. Kind of dought it since we only see 3 month worth of import on RS6 and then stopped on 12/31/2003...can't pass the new US emission standard.
