Could my supercharger clutch be sticking? Deets within
(2003 C32 / 165k mi) At low speed + no throttle condition, I hear a crunchy rolling noise, like a bad bearing or a thrashed brake pad, but coming from under hood. It doesn’t matter if I’m on the brakes or not. Also accompanied by a bucking feeling, like the car is surging (throwback to when I broke a vacuum line, lol!). No RPM change.
I’ve replaced the front pads & rotors just in case + maintenance- no change.
Supercharger pulley bearing + idler pulley bearing + belt replaced by a reputable shop- MUCH less, but still there.
Clutches are wear items, no? Is my supercharger clutch donezo? If so, am I better off going fixed pulley?
Thanks!
