Flooring = Guilt !!
How often do you drive hard in your C32/55? I find myself driving so hard and flooring the poor thing so frequently that I feel pity for car sometimes. I have to admit though, it feels really good when I do so. Does anybody share the same emotions??

Besides (in HK) there ain't a highway long and quiet enough for the baby to go beyond 160kmh safely, the C55's 4th gear has plenty of torque that would already enough and risk my driving license :p I am paying USD500-600 fuel per month for a daily driving 50-80 km. ~$0.25 per km , so I only floor it when I have the objects to chase for.
If I tend to drive hard, the gas meter shows 15-17litre/100kmh
If I tend to drive gentle, the gas meter shows 12.5-13.5litre/100kmh
When do I floor it ? I do that only when I saw other monsters on the road. (HK is possibly the tiny and most dense city packed with enough supercars like Ferrari, Porsche, EVO7, Legacy..)
Yesterday , I gave up (instead of saying I actually lose) to chase a W208 CLK320 because the Lung Cheung Hill Road was too bumpy for the hard suspensioned C55 to do comfort fast cornering...believe or not

When I got my dyno earlier this week, I watched as the guy brought the car up to 6000 rpm in 3rd gear. It sort of made me wince when it was revving so high!! I floor it occasionally, mostly when G35s, Altimas/Maximas, Mustangs, or BMWs challenge me on the road. There are a lot of them here in Dallas, and they all seem to think that their car is the fastest thing on the road (it's nice to show them they're wrong!). It still feels ike I'm a little too hard on the car, but as someone here said--drive them like they were made to be driven.

I don't feel guilty about it at all. I spent an extra $20k to get performance version of the C-class. They are built to drive hard. Your max horsepower is around 6100rpms, you need to go there to enjoy the true potential of the vehicle. Just DOOO IT

Just curious...I know that the engine is built to be driven hard and can take the abuse, but how are the other parts of the car? Is the other parts related to suspension and drivetrain beefed up or just the same as a regular c-class.

holy old thread! lol
I also have over 100k on my car. But I'll be honest, anytime I can, I floor the hell out of it. Heart gets going, sweat beads start coming out and after you slow down and relax a nice "woooooo" comes out. It ranks up there with good sex. Who'd turn that down
I take care of my car and my car takes care of me. 80k? Pssh you're just getting started. Floor that girl to the floor.

I drive my AMG the way it was intended to be driven -- with spirt, fast acceleration, compressed corners and high speed. I bought the thing to drive it and love every minute. As long as you don't abuse it "brake stands" "off-road driving" "jumps" and the like, the car will be just fine with regular maintenance. MPG: I get 18 to 20 mpg driving with a pregnant woman in the car and between 13 and 16 mpg when I am alone on a deserted street.
