Bart: nobody will have it yet. I will be the first one to have it on a C32. But mine wont be installed after the new year. I will send you a write up via e-mail afterwards, ok?

Hope all is well with you.

do you really think you are the only person great enough to get these parts? I must say... people do exist with far mor connections than you. You do a great job of getting these parts but some of us just are happy getting things for ourselves and not trying to make money while doing it. With all the people in the world with friends at MB and AMG something tells me you are not the latest and greatest

And at this price I would never want the AMG part. I would rather pay 5k for a real LSD and not have a 30% locking diff. Since the car was NOT built with the diff and it was NOT installed by AMG the AMG diff still voids the warranty. The reality is that AMG does not make the part. A LSD firm does so why not save some moeny and go but it from them?

I would say Harris is probably the only one to get these parts, certainly from what I've heard. AMG will not offer this part to anyone outside Germany, and if its legit, and he has them in stock, I don't see the problem. Its a different matter if they're copies....

Personally, I have never heard of anyone else getting access to such parts on mbworld before....

I have a feeling that I should source out all these parts and re-sell them for $10. Strange, why am I not allowed to make some money with all the work that I have done? Eric, if you are not happy that I am making a small profit, please buy direct from your own source. Have I told anyone to buy it from me only?? And if you think you can get the same stuff that I offered that easily, very simple, please go and buy your own.

I never said I am the greatest, but at least I tried to source some of the rare goodies that most of us are not able to get on this part of the world. And of course there are many people who have more connections than me, but do they come forward and share with anyone of us in here? I have said this many many times, anyone can buy whatever parts directly from Germany if he has the right connection. But what about all the things that you have to go through? First you have the find the "right" guy, which is not always handy, then you have to source the right part, then you have to make sure they are available, then find a shipping company and air freight it over. Lastly, do all the paperwork and clear customs, in the end, after all the shipping, taxes and duties, it will cost as much (if not more) than what you'll be paying to me or other vendors. Is it worth all the hassles? And if you are not happy that I am doing all the lead work, ship the part right to your door, by all means, please buy it yourself.

Obviously, AMG did not take a piece of raw metal and mold it into a LSD. But I know they have spent a lot of time on researching and developing their LSD. The unit bears the AMG name on it and they have to make sure that it is made for the highest quality. They simply cannot afford to make ANY mistake. And I believe most AMG owners would rather put a genuine AMG part on their cars over anything else. AMG did not ask a third party to do research for them nor do they buy an off-the-shelf LSD from a third party and put their labels on it. The AMG LSD for the C32 or any other AMG cars are model specific, please tell me where you can find a LSD made SPECIFICALLY for any AMG AND that product has done the same amount of R&D as AMG did. We are talking about a very serious component on a car here, a differential, not a shift knob.

Well, I agree that a 60% locking diff will work wonders, but how long can they last? And how safe will the car be? Bear in mind that a majority of AMG owners will not drive their cars "normally". Personally, I trust the engineers from AMG, if they make a LSD with a 30% lock, there must be a reason. Some people always think they are smarter than others, but if they are, AMG would have hired them! Whether you agree or not is up to anyone's discretion. In this case, I do and you dont.
