I just placed an order for a C55 the other day and was told it will be built in the end of January and should arrive late February early March. I ordered it in Obsidian Black, black leather, and birdseye maple trim. The options I ordered are the lighting and premium packages, comand nav, bluetooth phone system with handset, sirius radio and possibly parktronic (my dealer is trying to see if he can get it factory installed).

However, I have some doubts about the parktronic because I just found out today that the digital climate control and electronic side folding mirrors he can not get put on a US model. Does anyone know if any of these options are available or should I say can be installed after I take delivery of the car?

Just be aware that salesman's words, I guess the factory version parktronic will be quite impossible to be installed after delivery. It consists of several components: front and rear indicators in the interior, also the sensors are installed over the bumpers and they need to drill holes , wirings and repaint them to match the body color.
I don't suggest to install "non-original" as they are not the 'same thing'.
None of those are prime , you will enjoy the car for a long time and every day it feels like the first day !

Yeah parktronic isn't that important in a smalller car like the C55 unless your wife S/O has a proclivity for mowing down trash cans and the like. Anyway, congrats.

Tell me more about the bluetooth, did not know this was available, is it a new release? I bought a motorola razr and a bluetooth headset to use in the car cause I thought the Mercedes gear (v60) wasn't that great.

My dealer told me that all the cars being built starting in November, December or January (I can't remember the month he exactly said) will have bluetooth included with the hands-free phone option. He said they are dropping the motorola V60 and switching to the V600 for GSM carriers and V710 for the other type of carriers. I actually did ask him if the new moto razr V3 would work with the car since it is a bluetooth phone. He told me he is not sure, because he has not seen a car with the new system yet, but he thinks it probably won't work because the bluetooth feature might be designed only to work with MB phones.

He also told me that they keep delaying the issuing of the new handsets for some reason. My hope is they are dropping the V600 for GSM carriers and switching to the razr that is causing the delay, but I think that is just wishful thinking on my part.

Congrats! I bet you can't wait and you'll be tracking the car everyday unti ldelivery! Just make sure that it comes right off the truck into your hands.

Really? That's strange did your dealer tell you when its being built or are they trying to locate one for you that is already built? Anyway, so what color and options did you get?

Will be built in Jan.2005. I have a call into them now to have them check about the bluetooth. Definitely will get the hands-free comm. option if it has bluetooth. Color is Granite w/ ash interior and wood trim. Premium and lighting packages. I also ordered the CLK front grill and flat emblem for it. That's it!!
Now comes the hard part, waiting!!!

What color and options are you getting with it?

Wow, so yours and mine could be built right along side each other. Have you thought about any other smaller options like illuminated door sills or chrome headlamp rings and side mirrors? Granite grey is a nice color. I came very close to picking it I just wanted a darker color in the end. I wish merc offered a color like bmw's silver grey metallic.

We have a 97 E420 Sport AMG that has the Moonstone color. Don't like a lot of chrome, that's just how we feel. I'm sure it looks very good to others. We also do not do a lot of driving (97 E420 only has 47,000 miles and we got it in May,96) so the Nav, system would not be used. If it was available, I would get an LSD unit with 3.27 gearing. It will be interesting to see who gets theirs first, since our orders are only days apart.
