Manual Swaps
Who will see this in 2025??? An absolute Mystery... But at one time these forums were one of the most helpful resources out, so I decided I would pay a visit for old times sake...
It's been a while and since the last time I visited a lot has changed including a few projects come and gone. I had enough manual swaps under my belt and was continually asked about taking on clients who wished to do the same to their cars. Eventually the right time, car and person came around and I decided to take on the challenge. The result was a 1 of 1, Six speed manual Swapped, M273 V8 powered CLK550 Convertible, all done with Factory components and programmed completely to Factory specifications just like it would have been IF Mercedes ever built it this way.. I have done 2x M113's, 1x M119 and 1x M273 and can do pretty much any 4cyl, 6cyl, 8cyl, 12cyl engine from Benz, so if curious, just ask!
I'm leaving this post here just as a sounding board, to share, and to put the word out there for anyone who may be interested in having me do the same for your cars. It's not something I plan to do often as I have my own projects to attend to, but is an honor to even be considered to do such work on these amazing cars.

But yes, these forums are pretty inactive. Disappointing really...seems like FB has taken over but it's not even close to providing the same level of support. FWIW, I've found that BenzWorld is much more active, at least in the forums I participate in.
I recently purchased a 1981 230CE Euro import series W123 car. It already has a 5-speed manual transmission but the 136HP 4-cylinder M102 motor is not really what I am wanting for my semi-restoration project car. If I stay in purist mode, I've been contemplating an engine swap from a C32 AMG which is how I ended up browsing this particular forum. It's highly unlikely my 5-speed tranny will mate up with any other engine though.
I would like to end up in the 300-400HP range and may end up looking at a LS small block instead. It's all theoretical at the moment...just beginning my research into how feasible this will be.
