2002 C230K Coupe (W203, US): need diagram on where ATA, antenna amp + wires are
Per the subject line I need a diagram on where the ATA, antenna amp + wires are to determine where a short is tripping fuse#8.
Why? I have been attempting to troubleshoot an issue with remote lock/unlock & have narrowed it down to something keeps blowing fuse #8.
I already tried searching the forum & while there are many posts on this, none have any diagrams showing *where* these components + wire runs are.
The closest post I found to my situation was https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c55-amg-w203/516344-keyless-entry-not-working-not-antenna-amp.html but that was from 2013 & sadly no one has replied to my (necro)post on it 😔
My understanding is if fuse #8 keeps blowing, it usually means one (or more?) or the ATA(s?) sirens or antenna amplifier or wires to these components are shorting.
Based on the component location descriptions I managed to remove a 2x0.5’ long (fragile) ABS plastic piece on the underside of the trunk hatch only to find… nothing but two star screws 😞
Because everything is so fragile now, & to avoid removing irrelevant panels, could someone post like an exploded diagram perhaps?
Thanks!
PS: car is stock, no mods!

I have a 5-door C55 and a (very) long time ago I had a problem with both remote locking and poor radio reception.
To open the car I had to use the infrared signal at the drivers doorhandle, instead of remote opening.
The problem lied in the antenna amplifier which was broken due to a water-leak. It was, if I remeber correctly,
situated at the top of the trunk above the window, where a telephone-antenna also sits. Water obviously came
in via the top spoiler and ruined the aplifier. Worth noting the alarm siren was changed too.
I don´t know if this helps you with your coupe. Good luck anyway!

I managed to find an exploded diagram for my model but it’s still very vague (see attached), ie: is the amplifier located *in* the glued headliner? If so, how did you get to it w/o destroying it in the process?
