AC - about defogging windows in C55.

I think Owner's Manual says AC (compressor?) will not operate below 41-deg-F. If windows fog up inside in really cold weather (e.g. from rear passengers breathing heavy), I thought warmed AC air would dry it faster. Same principle for defogging windshield in some situations. What if it is much colder than 41-deg-F?

Rgds,
Norm

In case my question was not clear, it is:
In cold weather (i.e. below 41-deg-F) does the AC compressor not work at all to dry the inside humid air faster?
