Alarm Malfunction Yesterday?

Alarm Malfunction - help
2002 C32 with 52K miles...
Yesterday, after lunch I lock the car and the alarm goes off. Unlock, relock, seems fine. 4 hours later when I am leaving work, the fog lights and middle break lights are flashing. Drive the car home and lock it. After a few minutes same thing, fog lights, brake lights flashing and the dome lights are on. (No horn or siren).
Now I try all the tricks, turning the wheel all the way each direction, using the key to open all the windows, then close them. Every time the car would still do it after a few minutes. Finally, I just left the car unlocked so I didn't wake up to a dead battery.
Weather was great yesterday, the only thing that happened was that I clocked my head on the sun visor when I go in the car in the morning. I realized later in the day, that I moved it off the sensor, so the vanity light wouldn't go on. (so I moved it back)
This morning, the problems seems to have gone away... but I am very leary.
Any Ideas?
