if you do get an WRX STi tho, remember to not *** up the rims. One of the guys I know went to track his STi and he bent one of the rims and those thing are expensive since they are forged wheels. he ended up buying new set of replica rims instead of spending the same money for just one rim.

Cons: The fit and finish is incredibly weak. My old '98 Honda Prelude had better quality. The 2.0 engine was puny and suffered from serious moodyness (atmospheric conditions), the stock turbo only has so much gust. Some days it felt like an unholy terror, and others it felt like it was 40hp down. Oh, and we all know it's one of the ugliest things on the road. I even had a jdm sti front end, prodrive wheels, and the jdm sti projector headlights and still never turned a single female head. :-)
Pros: Amazing car to tune, incredibly easy to build cheap horsepower, especially now- there is a perponderance of used/new aftermarket parts available. If I had serious intrest in building a track only car I would definitely consider a wrx/sti if I didn't care about bravado or visual aesthetic. I have a few friends that still track theirs and pass gt3's daily. (I would still rather have the gt3 imo) Pretty damn dependable, I dished it out to my car on a daily and it took it and came back for more. I did go through a clutch/flywheel but as much is to be expected when running 350hp on a 227hp car. Oh, and there is nothing more fun in the snow.
In retrospect I'll never modify any engine related parts on a daily driver again.. it was a pain passing smog as you can imagine. Getting it serviced was even more of a nightmare (your power window broke? It's because of your blow off valve- we're not covering it under warranty). From my perspective that dictates if 300hp is what you want, go sti and not modded wrx. (any friends reading please don't shoot me)
FYI- Evo's interior is super cheap, but the car handles better for non daily use imo.
Oh and I love my c32 whole heartedly and am not looking back. :-)

But it would still hammer your car in all around performance!
I just sold a 2004 silver EVO and would have liked it more than the M Coupe and M3 it replaced except for one thing... IT WAS CHEAP!
Not sad I bought it, but I now know that performance does not matter that much to me. I'll take pride of ownership over pulling .91 g's and affordable mods any day.
My .02 and by the way hello everyone!
Out with the old and in with the new.
