I am thinking about replacing my stock C43 wheels & tires with those from the older model E55 (i.e. same style different size => 18 vs. 17). I would also like to put 275's in the rear. However I an somewhat concerned that they are too wide and that I will run into rubbing and fitment issues. Do any of you have this size tire on your c-class? Any issues? Appreciate any advice. BTW, I currently have the stock suspension.

I asked another member of this board the same question a month ago.
He stated 225 40 18 for the front and 255 35 18 for the rear. I bought a set of E55 rims with tires for my car they came with 245 on the front and 275's on the rear. I will try out of curiosity but plan on buying new rubber. I will post the results with some photo's soon.

i think 25 will rub for sure, if not the outer wheel well, inside for sure. if you are curious, jack up the car and mount the rear rims, pay attention to the rear shocks to see if it will rub, also while the car is still jacked up, put the car in neutral and try spinning it. but again, my guesses are that 275's are just too wide.
