Oil Question...your advice is appreciated

Hello all, long time viewer of the website, post once in a while...so, my oil light came on saying that I have low oil.

Can you let me know what type of oil I should be putting in the car. Also, I am assuming the manual will tell me where to put the oil. If someone could let me know exactly where in the engine.

I am great behind the wheel but cant maintain a car to save my life. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Oil Recommendation

Oil used is 0W-40 Mobil One full synthetic. The C43 uses close to eight (8) quarts, please verify with your manual..the capacity is listed.

You can find Mahle, OEM-spec, filters on ebay for about $24 for four or five plus shipping...do a search for "c43 oil filter". Anyways, I change the oil at 5K mile intervals religiously. Change your ATF fluid too regardless of what MB says if your vehicle has over 50K miles.

Here's a great DIY website if you're "green" with respect to working on your own vehicle.

OOPS! The oil goes in the oil filler cap. It is located on the driver's side valve cover, towards the front. Looks like -----> ([]) I fill it up through the oil filter housing once the filter is removed.

I use Mobile 1 15-50w the red cap. Takes 8 quarts like previously mentioned. I also use Kendall GT1 20-50w.
