P-40_10-43 JAN 04 Tires - Michelin Pilot Sport A/S(R) Tires Not Approved
, but my take on it is that the Pilot Sport A/S was being used as a replacement tire by some owners of high performance cars (AMG, etc.). I've chatted with several owners who used the A/S in hopes of getting longer tire life as it has the higher treadwear rating. Most all reported back that the handling was TERRIBLE compared with the "Max Performance" summer OE Pilot Sports. One even advised that his C32 was "squirrely" after putting on the A/S. He could not wait to get a different set of tires for it.Since the handling was changed (for the worse in most cases), I am guessing that MB just decided to adopt a "not approved" status for the tire.

And we don't have any pulling/squirrely issues either. The last set on the rear got us 24K miles, which is over twice what the Bridgestone Potenzas gave us.
