Drag Racing
I have a 1999 C43 and was wondering if someone out there could give me some pointers in best performance option in setting the intruments. ESP On or Off, should put in S or W? Any help is appreciated and have in mind that the car is completly stock except for the KN Filters.

In my opinion if you ever plan to take to the track take out the spare wheel, run with 1/8 of a tank and take out the esp fuse, that will disable your esp, asr and abs completly. I think its fuse 16. Other than that just let it rip. I dont think there is a need for power braking. Just hold the brake with your left foot and once u ready to relase the brake and floor it at the same time. That will give u good reaction time. Laters

C43ing, you can go to the link I posted on the initial thread message, this time was done on 1/4 gas tank, no spare tire, ESP OFF and W. I guesseD W would adhere better to the asphalt for tracktion. What you recomend to remove the ESP fuse will defitely try it, because even though ESP was off and Exlamation mark on the console was on, when I floored it it would kick in by doing progressive flashing, so to my understanding it was not off completly. In which of the fuse boxes will #16 be?
Would it be prudent (for drag racing purposes) to decreas the rear tires to a lower profile?
Keep me posted I want to take it stock to 14.2s...

Once you take off your fuse box cover the the label will tell you that I think fuse 16 is for esp. Once you take it out and start the car the esp, asr and abs lights will be on. Now once you put the fuse back in dont freak out. The light wont turn off right away. You will have to drive for about 10 sec and then they will turn back off. Also you can lower your tire preassure for better traction.

turning the steering wheel back and forth or something like that.
i also noticed light goes off even if you don't follow the procedure and just drive it for a few seconds, but i'm not sure if this means that calibration will be incorrect or what not . . .
so to be sure one might just do the calibration i guess.

Please give Opinion based on drag racing conditions:
Under these conditions why is is better S for drag racing than W? I was reading the owner manual and it says that the transmission will kick start from 2nd gear?
2ndly:
What PSI is recommended for rear tires for better traction?
