Fuel Gauge
Alrighty..I knew from the onset that MB's are fickle and luckily I can do most of my repairs without taking it to the $tealer$hip for repairs and/or maintenance.
So......car was down to about 1/4 (indicated) tank of petrol and refilled - now the fuel gauge is inop, any ideas? The "Search" feature yielded nothing that was helpful to my situation. As always, any help is appreciated.

I had exactly this problem when I first got my car. Small amount of petrol in it when I picked it up, chucked a few quids worth in just to get me going and it seemed fine. First time I filled it right up, the gauge went down to zero and the reserve light was coming on and off at random.
When I had burnt some fuel off (maybe 1/3 tank) the gauge suddenly flipped up to full and then went down as the fuel was being used. Fill up.. and it stops working again.
As I had only had the car 2 days when the problem first appeared, I rang the dealers who took it back and fixed it no questions asked (worth paying the premium over buying private sometimes). Apparently it is a bit of a job, the tank has to be drained and the back seat has to come out to get at the senders. There are two senders in the tank, and I doubt they are cheap! Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings.
On the plus side, since they were changed the gauge has worked perfectly. Nice to know with a car as thirsty as a C43...
