Ok, now on to Affalterbach and the AMG facilities.Now before you ask,no pictures were allowed in - the engine assembly area, or the Designer Performance Studio.

On to the HWA Racing facility- we got the grand tour here.We were escorted down into the basement - what I like to call the "Skunkworks" area.No pictures were allowed here either - .The coolest thing we saw was- get this - they are making another 30 pcs. of the CLK GTR!5 are being made with the hardtop and 25 are being made with a targa style - cabriolet.When we walked in my jaw dropped when I saw the GTR.A man who was polishing it got up and walked to me and said "Want to buy it?" I said - "I don't know how many generations it'll take to pay for it - but I bet the maintenance would put me in the poorhouse." "How much?"He replies "1.8".
It had a custom PURPLE PLAID interior - I said "Who's is this - Prince?"He said he didn't know - he job was to detail it before delivery.

I saved this shot for last.To me this shows what AMG and the people that work there are all about - 1st class.The center AMG flag was lowered and Old Glory was raised in its place.This is to signify to everyone that AMG has American visitors on the premises.Thank you AMG and the Private Lounge for a trip that I will never forget and memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Man...I am Speechless...I loved the pictures can't Imagine how you must of felt, but one thing I know, before I go to my grave I must have one CLK DTM, screw the E55, I got to have one of those, lol! Thanks for the pics, very nice trip, so give me some insight, how do i get elected to be a candidate, i would like to take my shot.

For the record and FWIW - I only managed to hit 278K per hour on the Autobahn in the CLS55 - I ran out of road - the roadway went from 4 lanes to 3.
P.S. - shortly after hitting the 278k mark........the "LOW OIL" message appeared.When I arrived at Nurburgring we had a mechanic check the car and it was 2 liters low!

It all remains awesome as it comes. I love the C DTM car. I have one ... a model ... unassembled in a box. 
I see the R107 SL racer in the background. I happen to love that old-school car too. Did you snap one or two or it? I know 56K is killing you so no either way.
