C43 Cruise control malfunction

Just trying to troubleshoot what might be wrong here:

while in cruise control at around 71-73 mph I have been having problems w/ uncommanded cruise control shut-offs....it has probably happened like 6 or 7 times now in the last few days. Most occurences were during unaccelerated cruising on flat freeways, though it happened once coming down a hill and once after I had momentarily tapped the accelerator. Its a rather violent disengagement (maybe just because it is unexpected), and both simple re-setting of the cruise control as well as pressing the off button and then resetting have not helped.....so I'm guessing that it isnt an isolated problem. It does seem to take a while to start occuring....both days that it happened I had been driving for nearly 40 minutes in cruise before it started giving me problems. Any ideas what might be happening? Thanks guys

Do you have new front tires and worn rear tires, or vice versa? If so that will cause this malfunction as the wheel speed sensors are not seeing the same rotations.

actually yes, and I'm an idiot for not putting 2 and 2 together on this one. My local dealership had their "winter service event" yesterday, and when I asked one of the techs about it, he mentioned the exact same thing.....and then I felt like a retard

Don't feel like a retard. The only reason I know this is because I went through the same thing and it took a long time to find out the problem, just glad I could save someone the grief that I had to go through.
