extra white non-HID headlight bulbs

ive posted about this before ...

i use sylvania silverstar bulbs. they are pretty white and bright, but of course not the same as xenons. much whiter than the regular bulbs, though.

problem is they only last about 12-14 months. at $20 a pop, it's not really breaking the bank, but it is a pain. plus i worry if both may pop at the same or close to the same time while i'm driving through the desert at night or something!

does anyone have any suggestions as to a good, bright, white bulb that has some longevity?

Well the silverstar ultra's just came out, suppose to last 20% longer or something to that extent.

I've had a very good experience with Philips bulbs.
I run the Vision plus, which aren't blued, but put out 50% more light.
And I use the Rally beams 85w for hi beams.
Only had to replace one Vision plus out of all of them, and that lasted like 3 years, and the others are still kicking *** after 4-5 years.

I may go to HID soon, so maybe sell mine used if you're interested with a spare Vision Plus. Otherwise you need to order from UK, powerbulbs or autobulbs I think it is.

I just got the Philips crystal vision its brighter and whiter. But lets see how long it will last. The silverstar ultras cost 2x as much as the Philips even though they have similar lighting.
