I'm finding as I search online (after mine has smoked my ECM, unfortunately!) that the 95's seem to suffer from this affliction! Anybody else have this issue and have a replacement? Do the replacement parts have the same problem? I don't want to shell out for another ECM, and another wiring harness down the road! Especially after the mechanic tried to "smoke" me into believing that I could only get an ECM from Germany to the tune of $4400, and I found a remanufactured one for $720!

Getting my 95 c36 wiring harness replaced tomorrow when it comes in. Car runs fine but some of the wires are falling apart. The harness was a whopping $1400! The c280 was only 800.

The three main problems in these cars are the main wiring harness,head gaskets and abs/asr module after that you should'nt have a any other major repairs.

I was told the head gaskets leak. But with 90k+miles no oil leaks.

check your coolant make sure it stays green and not milky brown that would mean an intermix has occurred.

The Benz antifreeze is yellowish. Not green.

Also the engine oil level should be consistant. If the level goes up,the coolant is mixing in. But its normal to use some oil.
