Hi all, bit of advice needed please guys. Have had a noise coming from the back of my C43 for a few weeks now, sounds like an electric fan and has got steadily louder. I'm now sure its the Fuel Pump as the sound changes under acceleration. My question is, is this something joe public can replace, some people have said the pump is inside the fuel tank! Oh and at £250 it ain't cheap, (can they be reconditioned?). Anyways thanks for any tips

Negative, it is directly in front of the fuel filter (mounted parrallel to it). There's a plastic cover attached with 10mm plastic nuts just in front of the pax side axle shaft, immediate right of the the propeller/drive shaft. If you get on the floor you'll see it, the filter first then the pump - look for the rubber hoses. I believe the pump is mounted inside the tank on ML sport utes.

Apologies for quality of second picture. it shows the relationship though...

Thanks for the comprehensive response StapleGun! Appreciate the effort with the pics. I'm less likely to do this myself, will leave to a pro, but at least I know it shouldn't cost a packet on labour.
