So less than a day after retrieving my car from having the windshield wiper gearbox replaced, my digital clock on the instrument cluster has failed. I can still barely make out the digits, but it seems that the backlighting has gone away. Please tell me this isn't anoth $1500 repair????

Just remove the instrument cluster and replace the back light globe, if you can just make out the numbers then that's all that is wrong.

cool, thats what I was hoping.....just wasn't sure if they had gotten all fancy since the w201 era clusters
