Todays guessing game
So today the car is in the shop for ball joints, wheel bearing (pass. side) and tie rod ends. Lets play the guessing game to see how much it will cost. I am not supplying any parts. A local shop is doing it, not the stealership.

My roomate is a mech. at MB so I will find out. All of the parts are about 125 or so together, maybe 150. and if it is 4 hours for all figure another 240. So max it should be is $400

I had the tie rod ends replaced a couple of months ago. Didnt cost much but getting just alignment on f and rear was $100. BTW how do you know when the bearings go bad?

You can buy just ends, http://www.autohausaz.com/search/pro...ie%20Rod%20End.
SVT, my roomate works for MB. And I just shop around online. The ball joint job as listed my benz takes 1.3 hours per side. So I figure 4 hours at most x 60 per hour. 240 in labor. My friend is a mechanic and is doing the work. Also replacing the v-belt and the oil cooler gasket.
I will find out today.

Lensolo, I figured that. Every car person including my roomate (MB tech) laughed when I said I read that it takes 6 hours.
As for the car, well its still there. So far, tie rods, ball joints, susp. sway link, wheel bearing and there is something else. Oh yeah and front brake pads. Awesome!! From the shop the car will go into the garage and hibernate until the sun shines again.

This is very common here brother.. I saved $100s just for several oil changes and sparkplug replacements.. It is not hard, finding time is...
I hope I don't end up changing tie rod ends on this C43, but i did it on my van, very very easy... Gotta get them alligned later tho.
