Question 19" wheel & tire size suggestions

Need to replace my C43 tires and might as well replace the wheels while I'm at it since the clear coat is flaking off and I've hit a couple potholes over the years. Really need you guys advice...

I've located a great deal on a set of 19" wheels I like, but not sure the wheel sizes and tire will fit. Here's what I'm thinking about:

Wheel sizes:
- 19x8.5 front ET35 (5x112 bolt patterns)
- 19x9.5 rear ET35

Tire sizes:
- 225/35 & 255/30 ??
- 235/35 & 265/30 ??
- other sizes??

This is my everyday driver, so I'm not planning to lower or modify from the stock suspension.

Will these wheels fit? Tire size suggestions from those who are running 19" wheels?

THANKS!!!

if you are concerned about driveability you won't like 19s. and even worse if you encounter pot holes

best of both worlds... 18s, get the look and driveability. the C43 will look like a 4x4 on 19s w/o suspension modifications IMO.

Good point about the day to day driveability with 19s and I'm probably setting myself up for another pothole experience.

While I'd really like a larger wheel & tire, I ended up purchasing a set of these 17s as the price was cheaper than getting my 4 AMG wheels straightened and completely refinished:

I'll post some pics up here after I get them installed, but this is the closest pic I could find here on the forum:

Any 17" tire recommendations?

Yes, those are the stock sizes but I'd like to squeeze a little more rubber under the rear fenders.

REAR TIRES: the new wheels are 35MM offsets (and the stock rear ones were 30MM rear), so I'm gaining more rear fender clearance as the rear wheel will now tuck under by ~1/4". So I'm going to try a 255/40/17 tire...especially since the car isn't lowered and the new wheel width stays at the 8.5" stock width. But I am worried the wheel being 1/4" more closer to the strut/shock plus more rubber might cause it to rub.

FRONT TIRES: I'm going to stay with the front stock size of 225/45/17(eventhough the new wheel width is 1/2" wider at 8" vs. 7.5").

i'm pretty you won't have any problems with 255/40 in the rear

Yes, after looking under the car there should be plenty of space for the wheel and tire to move inwards a little towards the shock and spring.

The Pirelli tire I'm running has a 9.6" cross-section and the new Sumitomos will have a 10.2" cross section, leaving an additional 0.6" of tire to fit under the rear. Divide that number in half (for each side of tire) and that leaves an extra 0.3" of tire + 0.25" of wheel width that will now move inwards (b/c of the 35MM wheel offset) for a total of 0.55" that will now be closer to the shock and spring which should work.

If they would have offered a 265/35 in the same tire I probably would have tried that instead, but the next larger size was 275/40 and from what I've read here it would have definitely rubbed.
