1986 300E, 2008 C300
Transmission Experts needed!

Hi guys,

Does anybody know of the gear ratio of a 1995 C36 transmission & differential compared to a 1986 W124 300E

1996 C36 AMG
1st - 3.87
2nd - 2.25
3rd - 1.44
4th - 1.00

2.82.

2.82, 3.07, 3.27 are the MB ratios in that vacinity, the more powerful AMG cars have 2.65 if I am not mistaken, there is a 3.69 gear that went in earlier W140 S320s when they were 4spds and a few other underpowered uber heavy benzes.

you can get your module upgraded to run a different diff. It costs a bit of money but it can be done, you cannot just swap out diffs though without doing any electronic upgrade. ESP will put you into limp mode. I may consider 3.07 depending on costs.
