There was a guy on here (Moto) Norman that lives in Cali that has done a few of these installs.

I just test drove a silver 2002 clk 55. Never been hit, clean with only 36,500 miles. Asking was $22k got it down to $20k. I might jump on it! The car is a beast, so easy to burnout. First I have to sell the 350z. The C36 stays.

I told you!!! Now you have an idea and a potential monster for the summer. They have nicer seats and a nicer interior than my car IMOP. You can also fit wider tires on a CLK55 vs a C43. Now you'll have something to put up a worthy battle against me!!!

Yes but only on the track. I got really lucky when my charges were dropped with a good lawyer. The car needs 275s in the rear to hook up. The torque is amazing. It also comes with a warranty for 2yrs 70k miles. So when is the next drag day?

carl, your car looks effing sweet for sure! love the stance. pics of your car inspired me to lower mine last year, in fact.

i got about 80K on the clock, and love the car, but i have to admit that it doesnt feel as peppy as it did when i bought it in 2003. maybe im getting used to it? either that, or im feeling like 302 hp isnt much these days considering sonatas come with 240 hp now, haha!

i was looking at trading it in on a 2009 caddy cts vseries. i test drove the older cts v, and that car was a beast! although admittedly not as refined as the c43 set up. if i had a bigger garage, id keep her, but as i dont have the space, id have to sell her to get the caddy.

its pretty much whatever you prefer. the CTS V (old and new) are based off the preiod Z06 motor. CTS V is just a ZO6 with 4 doors, im typically not an american muscle fan, but the ZO6 is a really sweet car no matter how you slice it (price, handling, power etc) and the CTS V (or any V version caddy) by proxy is sweet too. Ive driven the older one and it sounded great amongst other nice features. i think you should go for a C63 though

werd, the c63 is a bad ride, but i was hoping to get something a little larger. so i was also actually considering an 05 E55, but after researching the forums, sounds like they have their own set of problems as well. but i guess all performance cars do. i dunno. the caddy was attractive vis a vis the E55 bc it would be new. i still have some months to OCD over it ...

So the consensus is for a C43 or in my case a W209 CLK55 its far easier to buy a E55 or CL55 Kompressor motor and plug and play swap out the NA motor versus a Kleeman or other aftermarket package?

Our C36 rolled 150K a couple of weeks ago. Approaching 150,500. It needs front bushings and a new front control linkage, but other than the annoying paint bubbles/minor rust spots, it runs and looks great! The CLK will roll 60K probably next week. Again, no issues.

I have 118,000 on my AMG C43/55. I love the 55 motor in the car, but a little bit of the 43's ability to rev out to the redline hard and smooth. The 55 struggles a little past 5000 without the headers on.

Which is another reason for me to get the headers back on and maybe find a Kleemann cam or PTE cam. Would love to see 350hp at the wheels.

I have been driving my car a ton this summer and fall and just love the way it rails around the corners and grips so damn hard it puts a smile on my face.

Anyhow I think the W202, W208 chassis is a good one and better than the newer Mercedes with the strut front suspensions for taking corners real, real fast. Been running the 255/ 40 and 275/40 Kumho Victoracers on the car for the last 4 months.
